In Loving Memory of
Sublime Prince Jackie D. Hicks
August 31, 1947 - October 25, 2011

 

 

Jackie, one of eight children, was born to Raymond and Dorothy Morris Hicks in Riverhead, New York on August 31, 1947.

 

He was educated in Powhatan County Schools. After school he joined the armed forces serving in the Vietnam War. Jackie received many service connected recognition and awards. There are two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, the Presidential Vietnam Citation Award, the Vietnam AirMedal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Jackie used his many talents and experiences during his ownership of The Venetta Grill and The Stafford Grill and also as a clothing importer.

 

Jackie was a member of several organizations; Masonic Mabuhay Lodge #59, Joseph I. Staton Consistory-32°, Amenophis Temple Shrive, Vietnam Veterans of American, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and American Legion- Post #10 Beagles.

Sgt. Jackie Donald Hicks departed this life on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Angeles City, Philippines.

 

Jackie was preceded in death by his sister, Louise and brothers, Raymond, Jerry, Revell and Leon.

 

He is survived by: his loving wife, Josefina; a son, Jarmel; a sister, Roslyn; a brother, Stanley; three aunts, Thelma Branch, Edna Brown, and Bertha Gray (Alfred); two sisters-in-law, Estelle Hicks and Barbara Hicks; devoted friends, Kenneth Morris, Wilnet Scott, David Butler, Major Harris and Ron of Petersburg, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

His remains rest at Inviongco Funeral Home, Angeles City, Philippines where a graveside service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 with interment in Clark Military Cemetery, in the Philippines.

GIG John H. Boyd 33rd
October 29, 1933 - September 11, 2011

 

 

Born in Augusta, Georgia, preceded in death by his Father, George and mother Pauline.

 

He began his Masonic travels in April 1981. He has served as an elected officer in Oki Military Lodge No. 68, as Senior Warden and Worshipful Master. He also served as the Right Wor-shipful District Deputy Grand Master District #7 Washington Jurisdiction.

 

He is a member of Sylvester Pappy Cann #11 Royal Arch Mason. He is also a member of Keystone Consistory No. 85 Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry PHA Northern Jurisdiction USA, Inc.

 

As a member of Keystone Consistory No. 85, Okinawa, Japan he was elected to various positions, Second and First Lieutenant and also elected to the position of Treasurer for five years.

 

He served as Thrice Potent Master of the Lodge of Perfection and was elevated to Grand Inspector General of the 33rd and last degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (PHA) for the Northern Jurisdiction of the United States of America.

 

As a member of Obelisk Temple No. 187, of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrines, Inc. He was appointed as the Captain of the Guard and Captain of Creation Team. He was also conferred the Honorary Past Potentate Degree and inducted into the Legion of Honor.

 

Relocating and becoming a Hawaii residence, he became a member of New Hope Lodge No. 3, and served as the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master and Right Worshipful Grand Senior Warden, of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Hawaii and its Jurisdiction.

 

He also became a member of Takbir Temple No. 227, of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order No-bles of the Mystic Shrines, Inc. Appointed as the Imperial Organizer and Imperial Advisor of the Desert, all of which culminated in being appointed to the prestigious position as the Imperial Deputy of the Desert.

 

Retired U.S. Marine Corp, at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He served in Korea, Panama, Okinawa and Vietnam. He is also a life time member of Post 1540 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

Survived by his wife Miyo, son’s Mike and Masakazu, daughter Masami.
